shf fantroll reviews
So I would like your advice. I created a fantroll months ago, and I was careful to make sure nothing about her was a "copy" of an existing canon character. Then they revealed Jane's land and my fantroll shares one of the words in her land. I really can't be more specific because I am still developing her and I don't want to get chewed out by the fandom at large, but I still think you would be the best person to ask about this.

hmmmmm. well, maybe consider changing the word in question to a synonym of the word? like crypts would be graves or tombs or whatever, you know? if its helium then just change it to another element/gas?

unless it really affects the character, i think it wouldnt be too hard to change, but if its only a word then i doubt people would raise a huge stink over it

all indigo bloods are down with the clown!
Would a troll Eridan's blood colour that has an obsession with shoes, but lives just outside of the water because she was sick and tired of her shoes being ruined by the water be a good idea?

hmmmm, i really dont think that having your seadweller live on land for a good reason would be good, but then again eridan didnt have a reason either (at least explained in canon, theres a lot of fanon about his gills being malformed or s/t)

so id say if you feel like it works, go for it! just be careful how you go about it :)

I don't think all trolls have 6 letter names. I mean, John, Rose, Dave, and Jade all have 4 letter names, but does every human have a 4 letter name?

Erin: Actually, according to Andrew Hussie, trolls pretty much do all have 6-letter names! If I recall correctly, after a lusus obtains the grub, the lusus gurgles some nonsense words, which are then approximated into two 6-letter names for the troll. Case closed. (I think fan-humans have a little more leeway, but I still advise sticking to some kind of pattern to make it more Homestuckesque!)

I've heard that you need a Space and a Time hero to have a session, but is that only if your session will be completed? I'm working on a fan session, but Space and Time don't seem to go well with any of my characters. Would it be possible for them to have a session without those heroes as long as it turns out to be a barren one, or do I need Space/Time players no matter what? Thanks!

Erin: Well, the Alpha Kids’ session doesn’t have Heroes of Space/Time, so I think it’s perfectly possible not to have either. That session will require intervention by another group, or some other kind of special circumstance, in order to succeed. Good luck with your fansession! :) Glitched sessions are all kind of fun!

What do you think of fanspecies? Like, inventing a new universe with a different species and a group of those bipedal sapient beings playing SBURB (or the same game with a similar name).

Erin: I think it’s fantastic! Creating a whole new universe opens up a ton of possibilities. I’d say go for it! :)

so my fantroll was a limeblood because I wanted something at the center of the spectrum to be more neutral. but now that it's known that limebloods are super powered, I'm not really sure what color to change my trolls blood to, seeing that I don't want a super powered troll. What would you suggest to be the best course of action?

Erin: Whoops I had to go read the update to know what you were talking about. Anyway, if you want a neutral blood color, green should work fine! The greenbloods in canon seem to be the most well-adjusted and “normal” of the bunch (as far as trolls can be, anyway), so if you want an everytroll, you gotta go green. :)

I know interaction with canon characters is frowned upon, but what if you vaguely or offhandedly mention one in your troll's bio, as sort of a mythology gag kinda thing?

Erin: Hm, it reeeally depends. I’d advice against it (since it’s not really funny), but I guess sometimes it can be done acceptably. Maybe something about your troll’s friend/quadrant being killed and fed to some psycho’s lusus in a FLARP session? I’d say only include a reference like that if it’s relevant to the character, rather than just thrown in for the sake of it!

rainbow drinkers could be any troll, really! it's basically like human vampires so im p. sure you could use it for your fantroll.

there you go!

Hey so I submitted Grypus Fulvus a while ago, but I've edited him a bit since then. Could you delete that submission and I'll send in the updated version?

sure!
